Founded in 1934, William Hill is one of the oldest and largest bookmakers in the UK, and it has a very prominent presence online. It is one of the Internet’s most diverse sportsbooks, and it has a poker room, bingo hall, arcade and a full-featured casino. With the online casino, in particular, William Hill has a great tradition of innovation, so it comes as little surprise that they were among the first to offer live dealers in their online casino.

William Hill offers its live casino in both in-client and Flash-based versions. William Hill sets the tables up like any other online table game except that there’s a video feed top-center of the screen. Clients can play using the combination of video and graphical surface, or they can maximize the video and play almost entirely by sight and sound. This mode still has a series of control buttons and chat window for communicating. You can hear the dealer, but she can’t hear you. We prefer the Flash version for the expanded live view, but for the player that prefers the graphical surface, the in-client version has a number of features not available in the Flash version.

Our Experience

Most online casinos that offer live dealers have tried to offer as many games as possible as soon as possible. William Hill, on the other hand, has taken a very different approach. Currently, they only offer baccarat, blackjack and roulette, but all of these games are of exceptional quality. Both baccarat and blackjack are available in their standard configurations, and roulette is available in both European and French flavors (plus a London roulette version, read more below).

As mentioned, William Hill also offers British male croupiers, but only for UK blackjack and London roulette. London roulette uses a single-zero wheel, the bet limit is much higher than at the standard roulette wheels, and provides a distinctively upscale British experience. The only difference between UK blackjack and the standard blackjack tables is that the bet limits are much higher, up to $20,000 per seat.

William Hill offers a number of different bonuses to new players. The two most interesting to live casino players are the first deposit bonus for new players and the live casino new player bonus because the new player can take advantage of both of these individually.

William Hill offers its first deposit bonus in three versions, all of which depends on the amount you initial deposit: 25% match up to a £34 bonus with a minimum £10 deposit, 100% match up to £150 bonus with a deposit of at least £35, and a £300 bonus for anyone who deposits £1,000 or more. Unlike most match bonuses, William Hill deposits this one to your account instantly. Before it’s in the clear, however, you’ll have to turn the deposit plus the bonus over 20 times. So if you deposit £100, William Hill gives you a £100 bonus, and you’ll have to wager £4,000 before you can withdraw it (this is easier than you think).

The secondary bonus is £25 for all new live casino players, and it’s a bit simpler since William Hill doesn’t actually deposit it until it’s already clear. There’s no need to deposit any certain amount of money initially, and there’s no expiration on the opportunity. Once you’ve deposited at least £25, and turned that money over 8 times, William Hill immediately deposits an additional £25 into the player’s account. The player is free to withdraw the money at that time.

This second, live casino bonus is basically just a free gift and very easy to earn with just a 8x wagering requirement!
